I have one simple message for any conservative who bitches and moans and repeats the popular-yet-groundless-on-anything-but-vague-and-hopelessly-cherry-picked-anecdotal-”evidence” meme about how all teachers are filthy Leftists indoctrinating the yoof with environmentalism, socialism, gayism, whatever: quit your job (if you have one), go to uni, get a teaching degree, and teach. Otherwise, shut the fuck up.

As an appendix to something I done wrote that will be published later today, I present good ol’ KG of A Western Heart and Crusader Rabbit fame. KG doesn’t only have opinions about dropping nuclear weapons on the Middle East and assassinating Barack Obama, he has opinions about education too.

Of course, back in KG’s day the edumacation was perfick because the dirty Leftist unions hadn’t screwed things up yet. In fact, the edumacation was so perfick that nobody ever got apostrophes wrong. And you know what else made the edumacation perfick? Discipline.

Sooooo, reading & math scores was ‘flatlined’ for 33 years, but spending MORE THAN DOUBLED? I’m thinking it’s time to quit beating that particular dead horse, and go back to BASICS – first & foremost, re-establish DISCIPLINE in classrooms ……………

I’m thinking the graph of money spent on sex education vs teen pregnancies would probably look similar at best or both lines would be trending up, the one for teen pregnancies being ahead by a mile.
